Who We Are

We Are All About
Youth & Students' Development

The Telescope International is a youth and student development organization which has a simple mission:

To groom the youth through trainings, working experience opportunities and volunteerism activities, so as to help them to be better prepared for life after school.

To make it possible for us to achieve our mission and vision, the whole concept has been broken down in specialized Divisions. Each Division has been designed to achieve a specific aspect of the overall goal as it works together with the other Divisions.

The mission of TTCJN is to train and mentor students and help them to gain  real working experience whilst still in school, with the aim of tackling graduate unemployment. Whilst at it, we imbue the sense of selflessness and patriotism in them through volunteerism activities.

As they are being trained, they build professional portfolios as well as professional networks for themselves. TTCJN achieves this by working hand-in-hand with its sister organization, The Telescope Training and Mentorship Academy (TMA).

TTYLAN’s mission is to solve problems in the communities in Africa and to help raise the living standards of the citizens of the countries the members operate in.  Essentially, what TTYLAN does is that, it looks for problems on the continent and put together the right team of professionals to go and deal with the identified problems.

The Telescope TMA is a training and mentorship center that adopts innovative ways to train, guide and mentor trainees. It specializes in startup capital development and helps students to build their own companies and gain real working experience whilst still in school, under the guidance of highly experienced mentors.

The training aspect of TTCJN’s operations is handled by The Telescope Training and Mentorship Academy (TMA). We don’t just train. We mentor and groom each Telescope (trainee) to become a competent professional. We have some very seasoned and experienced mentors and coaches. We focus on:

Students get trained and receive mentoring in all six focus areas, and they also get the opportunity to gain working experience in each of them as they build professional and networking portfolios for themselves.

The Telescope Volunteers’ mission is basically to improve and uplift the living standards of deprived communities and whilst at it, help volunteers to also learn and gain working experience.

We tackle deprived communities and focus on making the most impact in each target community. All our programmes have poverty alleviation and inequality reduction infused in them. We aim to create self-sufficient communities, so our primary focus is on education and empowerment.

We have programmes in different focus areas and to make our programmes fun, we have added tours to each of our programmes.

Campus Fila is our media platform through which our members practice what they learn through our training sessions as they develop themselves to gain real working experience. It covers all the different types of media versions: TV, Radio, Website and Newspaper. Our journalism trainees get the opportunity to practice on all four different platforms.

Training And Results

Our objective is to train and mentor each Telescope (trainee) so that (s)he will gain professional skills and build professional career portfolios. Additionally, (s)he will build networking portfolios in any of our focus; thus, enhancing his/her value. The whole programme lasts for two years, during which the Telescope (trainee) receives training through our facilitators, mentors and coaches. We have carefully designed training curricula and Telescopes undertake real practical projects and assume real roles in order to gain real working experience, management skills, leadership skills and entrepreneurial skills.
