Petition (Ghana): Education On Racism, Tribalism And Diversity Should Be Added To All School Curricula
Racism and tribalism are major problems that affects all members of society. It is important to deconstruct taught ideas of racism and tribalism to children so that they do not go on to become perpetuators or victims thereof.
The government must acknowledge racism and tribalism as major problems and address them. As racism and tribalism are taught behaviors, it is important to directly address them through education.
The younger we teach and encourage anti-racist behaviour, the better prepared children will be to anticipate and correct these negative behaviours throughout their lives.
Minority groups are already disproportionately affected in terms of many political issues. By dismantling racist constructs early on, we can combat these issues also.
