It is always a pleasure when we have to do something to help the youth chart a proper course for their future.

Wednesday, 27th November, 2019 was the day for the Ghana Job Fair 2019 – Kumasi Edition. As one of the main organizing partners for the event, the No Business As Usual (NBU) team was there in full force to do what we do best.

It was organized by the Ghanaian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (MAC) under the Programme Migration for Development (PMD) of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. It was in partnership with the Government of Ghana through the Ministry for Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana). Other partners included the  Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), and of course, the owner of Asanteman himself, Otumfour Osei Tutu II (Manhyia Palace).

The NBU Team Was In Charge Of The “CV Clinic” As Well As The Mock Interviews

The NBU team was in charge of the “CV clinic” as well as the Mock Interviews for the hundreds of job seekers who thronged the event. We gave them free consultations on job search, assessed and diagnosed their CVs, took them through personality tests, leaderless discussions, interview scenarios and a whole lot.

By the end of the day, we touched so many lives and pointed most of them in the right direction. Many of the job seekers who came to the job fair, left more confident in themselves, armed with a much better knowledge and understanding of how best to approach their future job searches and interviews.

There were some employers and companies also present at the event and some lucky job seekers got the chance of being employed on the spot.

On a whole, we did good that day….a lot of good and as always, we at The Telescope International are proud to be part of the NBU Project by the European Union, SOS Netherlands, SOS Ghana and the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly and we have been contributing our part to the success of the project.
