Project: Providing Free ICT Training To Pupils At Abokobi Presby 1 Basic School

Project Overview

Pupils of the Abokobi Presby 1 Basic School don’t have sufficient computers and ICT teachers. Hence, they end up with poor performances in their final BECE exams. Over the past 10 years, their best performance in ICT has been Aggregate 15. If nothing is done about the situation, this trend will continue.

We have decided to organize six (6) months of free ICT classes for all the pupils, to help them improve upon their ICT knowledge base.

We have been using our own laptop computers to teach the children, as part of our Edu-Mentor Volunteerism Programme. However, more resources and support are needed.

I’m very happy and privileged that to have experienced and benefited from the volunteerism programme of TTCJN. I was having some problems with my maths, but the new strategies and methods our senior brothers and sisters came to teach helped me a lot. Thank you TTCJN and The Telescope International.

In our community, education had always been a challenge and our children had been having results which were not so good. But ever since your organization started this programme, I’ve seen some improvements in my son’s performance. Please keep on doing it.
